How to select the intersection line between 2 subtools so that Ican extrude this edge

Dear all Zbrush tutors,
I am currently making figures for 3D printing. For easy 3D printing I will separate the body parts into pieces, then I will assemble them togehter. For easy assembly, I will do Boolean Subtract to obtain the plug-in space between 2 subtools. I encount a problem of obtain the intersection edge between 2 subtools. Once I can obtain this edge (as shown in GREEN in the picture attached), I can do MOVE-extrusion, but HOW???
Or, there is another easy way to obtain this “Plug-in space” ?
Many thanks for your advice. Thanks!

I have used the slowest way, to mask the edge manually. It is slow and not accurate, but I cannot think of another way to do it.

Have a look at post#6http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?191674-Setting-up-my-model-3D-printing-How-to-make-joints-in-Zbrush&p=1126966#post1126966 I think it’s what your after!

Thanks a lot Springfield Jack.

First of all, your solution works, and thanks for your kindness for advising me.

But I just wonder if I can have a faster and more accurate rate to obtain the inter-jointing edge between 2 subtools.

Your solution is to use “SliceBrush” where the 3Dmodel is in one single piece. Your method works (as shown in the picture) but I still have to draw the edge out manually. Do you know if there is a method to obtain the touching edge between 2 subtools, in this case there are 2 pieces? As shown in my previous human head figure.

Thanks.

Doesn’t the Dynamesh subtraction give you the intersection you are after?

Yes, dynamesh subtract give me the needed “male and female” shapes.
Seems there is no way to save the manual effort of using the “SliceBrush” to select the edges.
Thanks.
