How to save?

Hi
Sorry this is stupid question but anyway I give it a shot,
do I have to save whole document or do I have to save only from tool’s palette the 3D tool. For example I draw 3d spehre and while I sculped it I needed to shut down zbrush, I saved the document and when I got back, opened my document I couldn’t edit anymore? Totally newbie so I hope to have some understunding on this one.

Now hit me, Jimking

ZBrush have save functions for every individual palette/menu

To save the 3D is select export in Tool Menu

To save the presets is to save in their own brush, texture, alpha palette/menu

To save the canvas (picture drawn in the window) is document Menu

Hi, and welcome to ZBrush!

Each palette with an inventory has its own inventory controls. Please read page 2 of the Quick Reference Guide (found here) for more information. The other pages of the QRG should be very helpful to you, as well.

Note: If you are using the demo, you will not be able to save your models. You’ll have to do all of your sculpting and texturing of an object in one sitting.

Newbie also, but I will give it a try.
The older guys will be here later to tell how wrong I am, but in case they are late.
You have to basically do it twice.
When you are finally finished you will have two things.
Tools which you have thumbnailed in the tool area.In the tool area there is a save command.Save the model there, it will save with the information you created.
The document itself, such as say the background etc gets saved as a zdocument.
When you reopen zbrush the tool is where you saved it,as is the document. Think of the document as a photo and the tool as an object and it might make more sense.
Probably know less now than you did before.
Hang in someone will be around in awhile.
luck

everybody answered at once!
If you want to learn faster read theirs.
luck.
Don’t worry about stupid questions,I will ask more for a longer time than you will.

Thanks for fast replies!

I have just purchased the program and been also reading those guides but didn’t find this, maybe it’s time to read all over again. If I understood correctly I just have to save the 3d tool and don’t have to save whole document until it’s ready.

Thanks I’ll grow up one day, Jimking

Hi rtyer

I think I got it, thanks for making it clear

Jimking

No sweat.
Obvious caution, try it now on the primitives.
Don’t wait until you have three hours invested in something and find it’s gone or frozen as a mere photo.
