How to render alpha hair in ZBrush

Hello community,

i’m very new to Zbrush so forgive if this is obvious to everyone else. So Im currently rendering a game model (exploring Zbrush’s render features) with game hair (hairplanes with alpha texture) and somehow I havent figured out to assign the alpha channel correctly, anyways the transparency isnt showing up. How can I turn on transparency and redner teh hair correctly?

Thanks guys :stuck_out_tongue:

ZBrush doesn’t use the alpha channel. You can set a texture as transparent, which instructs ZBrush to render anything that is pure black (RGB 0,0,0) as transparent. When creating your texture, make sure not to use any anti-aliasing as that will cause the edges to be blurred slightly. They’ll still look black to the naked eye but will no longer be 0,0,0 and so everything would have a black halo around it when rendered.
