How to prepare model in Cinema 4d to import and divide in zbrush?

Hi friends. I am new here and i hope i got a proper forum for this question. My main software is Cinema 4D and I am making my project in this programme. Now I wanna import it into zbrush and work with details. I am modeling buildings in old style, so i wanna add some cracks and this kind of stuff and after again export from z brush and go with it to cinema 4d and render it there. I tried import it to zbrush and divide few times and here comes a problem because it doest work like it should work. before i was working in zbrush but i have never before used it with other software. when i divide i thought i will be able to sculpt on the surface but it looks like there is too less polygons in some places. I dont know if i should prepare this model in Cinema 4d somehow to make it ready for dividing in zbrush or it should work anyway. in cinema 4d model doesn’t have equal squares and i am not sure but i think for sculpting they should be all on all model same sized? Can sb give me a word about this stuff and lead me to solution?

Hi I assume you are using 4R7, If so You have options. I have worked with c4d since R11 and Zbrush since 4r2. Prior I created my base meshes in c4d and mapped them with the uv edit module, then exported into Zbrush, later with the GOZ link. In Zbrush I would create a texture map using texture create from uv check, This worked good for low poly models, I would create , say a 300 poly model ,then in Zbrush , subdivide to say 3000 polys ,on his I would create a detailed finished sculpt. I would poly paint, and use spotlight to texture, capture with new texture from poly paint , At this point I would create, displacement, map, normal map!
Now use goz to transfer to c4d. No you are ready to add rig to animate , or just do renders . With 4r7 and zmodeler , zremesher ,plugin uvmaster I am moving away from doing any modeling in cinema 4d, organic and polygonal modeling Is so much faster in Zbrush, also uv map creation , is painless. uv edit in c4d very time consuming. Feel free to ask any questions, hope this helps.DJ
