how to "merge" items

Hey all,
Below is a cross section of a robot that I first modeled in Maya 2016 and will be 3d printing. I did a lot of intersecting, for various reasons, but the final result is here as you can see.

I was wondering for 3D printing, is there a way to just merge the unions so these “pieces” are no longer there and a good solid manifold is created or will it be ok like this? I already did a test print, and the balls of the legs didn’t all adhere together, so I figured it was because of the intersections and infill, mostly the intersections.

Anywhoo, I was wondering is there a way to maybe merge these without losing a lot of the detail like I would with dynameshing?

Here goes.

In order to effectively remove those, I had to:

  1. bump up the subd’s to about 4.
  2. convert to dynamesh USING Dynamesh Master(worked beautifully).
3)Then set 200k polys with Decimation Master
  3. Followed by 3D Print Exporter plugin.
  4. then export as stl to a size in mm.

The rest is history :).
