Hi guy’s,
I’m new here but i have been using zbrush in studios where i used to work in the past so i am familiar with the tools but maybe some new tool have show up since 4r7 so that’s the reason i want to ask here first.
This will sound like a very easy thing to do but as a 17 years 3d artist i was stunned to see how difficult it turned out to be so let me explain a bit how i proceed first.
I first tried with array in 3ds max and i found out that i could not keep equal space between scales while scaling the scales to the tapered tail section and i even ask for a solution in 3ds max forum and no one seem to have an answer about it.
Then i tried with Blender array tool who surprisingly was able to keep equal spacing between scales and also avoid distortion of the scales when tapered but i found it pretty tedious to work with heavy scene in Blender so i am trying to found if zbrush would have an easier solution to do this with the less click and in a reasonable time since i suffer from tendonitis.
Here a few pictures to explain better since English is not my native tongue:
I was thinking about using the curve brush but when tapered it is distorting the scales so is there any better solution to accomplish this?
