How to make points snap to mesh surface when retopologizing

Hi! Can anyone post some tips here on retopologizing. Specifically I want to know how to make points snap on the mesh surface when moving it. I’ve noticed that the new points do snap on the surface automatically but when I move some points/vertices around I noticed it doesn’t follow the contours of the mesh anymore. So, maybe there’s a way to do that here. I’m also posting this for the benefit of other artists who are new to retopologizing. Thank you!

Hi draftbeer

AFAIK. There’s no way to snap points to the mesh when moving them.

You could delete the errant point (Alt-click) and re-place it.

It’s not really a problem if you have projection enabled, except perhaps in
tight corners where projection can get things wrong. I think most folks just
clean up such errors manually after generating the new mesh.

Thank you for your reply grey32. Yep, figured that on my own. After hours of googling, hahaha. Unfortunately, at this point there’s no more effective way but to do what you’ve suggested.
