How to make good UV from cylinder???

I’ve searched through all the tutorials I can find, and the UV master videos. I’m just trying to unwrap a cylinder so I get a perfect, straight-edged rectangle and two circles, so I can import a texture map. I must be missing something obvious, but I haven’t figured out how to do it.

For that you would need to use a different app to do the unwrap.

UV Master’s philosophy is to provide a quick and dirty (yet high quality) unwrap. What you’re talking about requires point-level control and that means using something more technical.

Can you suggest such an app that I might find which is easy for a newbie to use?
