Hi all.
I’ve been seriously starting with zbrush, and want to use some files I’d started in Sculptris. I’ve exported them as .obj files to bring into zbrush, however, I can’t make them symmetrical as far as zbrush is concerned (symmetrical sculpting, etc.).
Any ideas? I can make a symmetrical file, but the symmetry feature still does not consider it symmetrical.
Thanks!
Not sure what you’re doing, but when I import a symmetrical sculptris exported .obj, it is symmetrical in Zbrush.
If you turned off symmetry in Sculptris at any time, obviously the object will not be symmetrical.
You could always mirror and weld on the x axis in Zbrush to ensure symmetry (Tool > Geometry > Modify Topology)
Thanks for the reply! I had symmetry on in Sculptris, and it’s on in Zbrush, but when I have a tool on in Zbrush, it’s only sculpting on one side of the figure. I’ve cut and mirrored the figure so that it’s symmetrical, but the tool stays on only one side, I don’t get the double tool you get in symmetry. I’ll try your steps.
you can also try tool:deformation: unify, that will center your mesh so symmetry will work, check the preview window above to see if it is on the right rotation axis.
