How to lower DynaMesh Resolution? It's not working for me...

Hey Guys, I am currently working on this Head, and I am at the point where I need to lower my DynaMesh Resolution.

It worked one time, but now I cannot get it to “re-mesh” Again when I lower the DynaMesh Resolution and then do a cntrl drag…

I got it to work a few times using “zremesher”…is this the proper way?

If so, I am Cool, but I don’t know for sure if using the Zremesher causes problems later on down the line?

Please Advise…

Thanks,
HBRC

If you change the DynaMesh resolution then you will need to touch the mesh slightly so that it will update.

Hi Marcus, thanks I for some reason did not think of that…

Ok, and also when I use the zrmesher, in order to boost up the points/poly’s, I loose the definition…

I hope this works, I am going to try that right now

thanks,
HBRC

Marcus! It worked but I closed everything out and then re-loaded the saved off tool.

I changed the Dynamesh Value, and then drag cntrol on the document and it worked!..
I wonder if some how it’s gets sideways, and you just have to load the saved off tool every once in a while…

ZRemesher is for producing a low resolution mesh with good topology, that you can assign UVs, create maps and export to other programs. To keep your high detail sculpting you’ve already created you would subdivide this low res mesh, then reproject the details from your original mesh.

DynaMesh is for medium density sculpting, specifically to explore forms in the early stages of creating something.

Thanks Marcus, I finally figured it out.

Basically for me It works one time. I change the value in Dynamesh, drag the mouse cursor cntrl click and then it updates the mesh and raises the points.

If I want to go at it from another poly count, I save the tool, close zbrush out, load the tool., make the change to the value in Dynamesh and then drag cntrl on the document and it works one time…
