How to export Fibermesh curve after hitting accept?

So for my project I created fibers for my cloth and since I wanted to use the groom brushes I clicked accept in the Fibermeshtool (which made it, its own subtool).
Now I want to export the Fibermesh, but since its, its own subtool it exports it as a 600k point mesh. Can I in some way get the curves for these fibers or do I have to redo everything …

Edit - So I figured out how to export it now, but when I export it (as an ascii file), I get this error in maya Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2024/scripts/others/performFileAction.mel line 64: No translator found.
I know this is the zBrush forum but maybe someone has an idea.

Hi @Felix_F !

The groom brushes and the mesh attributes that allow them to work are a ZBrush feature not recognized by other programs. Exporting the fibermesh subtool will convert it to real geometry and break the live fibermesh state needed for the groom brushes to work. To maintain the ability to work with the fibermesh in a live state it would need to be saved in a native ZBrush format.

You can export the curves directly from the Fibermesh menu (Fibermesh> Export curves.) However, these can’t be re-imported into ZBrush in that form. Supported formats are .obj, .ma, .lwo, .lxo, and .fmg.

I can’t help you with your Maya issue other than to suggest an importer may not be installed correctly, a setting may be improperly set, or there may be some sort of bug in either program at work. I’d suggest trying another format.

If you believe you’ve found a ZBrush bug, please contact Support and we’ll have a look at it.

Thank you!
