How to draw ZRemesher guides in straight lines?

Is there a way to draw the zRemsher guides in straight lines? The usual ways like holding shift or lazy mouse and backtrack seem not to work.

Hi @Ayalaheiner

To start, any curves can be used as ZRemesher guides, not just the curves drawn with the ZRemesher Guide brush. So you could, for instance, use a brush like the topology brush to draw the curves, which provides much finer control.

Under normal circumstances, holding Shift while using the ZRemesher guide brush should be adequate for drawing straight lines over short distances. If you drag off the surface of the model while holding shift, it will attempt to wrap around the model.

Enabling Lazy Mouse for the stroke will give you more control. Lazy Mouse can draw straight lines by pressing Shift AFTER beginning your stroke, pulling out the direction of the straight line, and then releasing Shift while still holding down the the left mouse button or making contact with your pen.

If the functions don’t work as I have described above, you should contact Pixologic Support to investigate possible issues with your installation.

Good luck!

@Spyndel - Wow! Didn’t know that I could use any curve for ZRemesher guides. Topo brush is great for guides. Thanks for that pearl of wisdom.
