How to deal with mitered corners with extrude polygroup border

Hi, is there any way to extrude this poly group border with out having the corners extrude into each other as in the last pic, If you only extrude to a point such as in pic 2 you are ok but if you want to go further the miter gets messed up. Thanks


nope there is nothing that can remove the existing polygons, so the workaround here is simply to remove two edgeloops :

do your extrude, and then insert the edgeloops again.
