How to clear the current project and start a new one

This may be the ultimate newbie question but I’ll ask it anyway.

How do you start a new project from within ZBrush - clearing the canvas and tool panel, etc., and starting fresh?

I’m sure the answer is staring me in the face but I can’t find it. For now I’m closing the application and relaunching. But that seems a little low-tech.

hi @sboerner,
what you can do is to save a empty ZPR project, so you can load it to save you some time.
Anyway if you want to create a new fresh project when you already got one opened.
You must to delete all the tools.
About all the imported textures and alphas, they aren’t saved with ZPR, so you can’t to remove all the ones you had already loaded, even when pressing Preferences: init Zbrush button.
You can also press the Brush Reset All brush button.

so best ways, load an empty zpr file, or restart Zbrush.

Hope it helps!
Nicolas

That helps a lot! Thank you for the detailed response.

It does seem curious that there isn’t a “New” button in the Document panel. But not a big deal. Restart seems the simplest solution.

Correction: I should have said File panel. Still figuring out all the ZBrush file-handling quirks.

Oh I didn’t used the preferences:Init Zbrush for a long time, and now I discovering that it removes all tools !
Well it do not removes the loaded textures
But anyway these textures aren’t reloaded if you restarts ZBrush.
So if you want you canvas to have a customize side you must to go in document : save as startup doc
