How much included content comes with ZB when you buy it?

After watching many videos which seemed to show a lot of content in ZB, i never actually saw where it’s states just how much ‘included content’ comes with ZB after you buy it. I’m right at the point of purchasing it, but it would be great if someone could point me to a link which shows what all comes with it beforehand (such as a lot of different geometric shapes and whatnot to add to your creations, etc). Much thanks, if there even is such a link…

There is no current link that I’m aware of that lists all the included Startup and Lightbox content. It has the ability to generate a number of parametric primitives like cubes, speheres, cones, capsules, Torus, spirals, etc. It also comes with a huge number of brushes and alphas by default, and more via that Lightbox system. It has a decent selection of included models, like a few different male figures, at least one female figure, some heads, a dog I think. R7 comes with a few mechanically oriented models like a weapon and a mech walker. It has a quite a few Insert Multi Mesh brushes that are each made of of dozens of tiny machine parts.

In short, I think it comes with a generous helping of premade content by any standard, although it depends on what you’re comparing it to. ZBrush is a content creation engine, not a catalog of premade content. Any decision to purchase Zbrush should probably be made based on what you can create with it, not what comes already created.

if you’re thinking Zbrush is like DAZ or Poser, it’s not.

it comes with basic shapes such as a cube, sphere, cylinder, plane. some shaders and materials.

everything else is just examples to show what can be created with the program.

i don’t know what videos your saw but chances are it was original content.

There is a generous number of textures…

I’d say there’s a lot of content and plenty to get started modeling your own stuff. There are about six human models of various sorts, several animals and various other examples to show what’s possible. There are also many ‘starter’ projects, making about 70 projects in all. Then there are sets of presets so you can try out the different features such as FiberMesh, Noise and Arrays. For example, the image shows the FiberMesh presets included. There are also about 200 textures, numerous sculpting brushes and materials included. Additionally there is a library of free materials, alphas, textures and grids at the Pixologic Download Center - all provided by the community.

Perfect answers! Awesome then, i’m pulling the trigger. Not because i’m lazy to create stuff, but i am somewhat new to modeling and need as much help as i can get :D. I noticed 3d-coat didn’t seem to come with a lot of included content to help ‘get you going’ and Zbrush does look like a better program, so there ya go. Hey thanks for the replies; off to the store.

i don’t know what videos you saw but chances are it was original content.

Yeah, i saw some vids which when they opened up windows to import things into the scene had TONS of content in them.
