how do I select a previous created zsphere model?

Hi all!
Yesterday evening (0:23) I began with ZBrush and today I did a lot of tutorials and read a lot of forum posts… But when I create a model with the Zsphere brush ( as told in the quickguide ) and when I want to use an other kind of brush I cannot select my model again… :s Everytime I want to select the model I create a new one or a new object. How can I select a previous created model in my window? Thanx and is fast modelling with this program…!

Reinier

When you create a ZSphere model, it becomes ZSphereCopy1 or 2 or 3 or… To get it back in edit mode, you must find it by clicking on the Current Tool box and selecting it from the pop-up box. Usually, it is also visible in the visible list of brushes and tools in the Tool Palette, but not always. Once selected, you should save it. Once saved, its name will be the same as the name you saved it with. You must save a ZSphere model before you quit ZBrush, or that model will be lost.

The challenge that you’re encountering is something that applies to all 3D objects, and not just ZSpheres. It’s also the most commonly asked question in ZBrush!

Here is a full answer.

Happy ZBrushing

haha, Thanks… I am glad to know that I am not the only one who made that mistake… I hope I can post my first character soon. Now just testing with importing maya models and editting them with ZBrush. Texturing was also possible in Zbrush?

Keep up the good ZBrush work! :+1: :+1: :+1:

Yes it is possible!!

To brush on character has 2 options

  1. import object in the window
  • in Tool menu/palette click modifier and then click texture and colorize. Select Clr>Txr, it will command to create texture map in Texture menu/palette by itself.

If you do not want to sculpture the 3D object while painting.

  • in Draw menu/palette uncheck “ZAdd” and click RGB for color only or MRGB for color with material. To manipulate material is in the MATERIAL palette
  1. Download updated TextureMaster script from PIX at TextureMaster Rev B. Load it in ZScript menu/palette.
-Texture Master is made for paint on window. click pick for 3d object to capture it like a screen shot function. Tutorial for it is in beginning of ZBrush thumbnails “Texture Master” with apple and sticker on it. Select it to view the demostration.

Option 1 is for bulky brush no alpha supported. Option 2 is for any paint and special effect with alpha.

Texture master is not the best because you would get blurry on the sides of 3D like a projector. Maybe in the next release will have better painting functions for 3D

The current version of TextureMaster (revision G) is included with the ZBrush 1.55b download – whether the demo or the commercial version.
