I’m having some serious problems grabbing ahold of modeling in this Zbrush.
Okay, I make a sphere(or sometimes a cube…etc). Then here I am editing my sphere and I decide to change my brush. When I switch brushes I lose focus on my sphere and I can’t grab hold of it to begin editing it again unless I make a new sphere. I simply can’t use anything in the ‘Transform’ menu. How do I regain focus on my object to continue editing it?
You have no idea how many times I’ve tried to work this. I’ve even tried looking at a few Zscripts. PLEASE HELP!
Hi Danny,
The basic info is this: once you use another tool, you cannot go back to the edit mode for the previous one. Luckily for us, ZBrush being the wonderful program it is, there are ways around this. Take a look in the Quicklinks page under Modeling or Newbie Help…something of that sort. (Quicklinks is on the top right of every ZBC page.)
Oh thank you too much, all that time trying to do something that wasen’t even possible…
I’ll go check out that link.
Hello Danny,
I had the exact same question when I started using ZBrush. I was used to a 3D environment where each individual object was selectable at any time. ZBrush isn’t like that - but there are ways to go back and edit an object that you’ve already created.
Check out out these links for more info:
Using a Marker to re-call an object for editing
Good Luck!

Thanks KitchenDon those are just what I needed.
