How do I polish my mesh properly?

Hey guys.

I’ve been working on this helmet that I’ve made using the topology tool off the back of a headscan. My meshes never seem to be quite well polished enough. I’m planning on making this 3D printable.

I always feel like i’m fighting with topology to make a clean hard surface look - I use all the main brushes that are recommended for this type of work but it still seems to come out quite wobbly.

I’d appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Attached are some photos of the project so far.

I’m no expert, but it looks like you need to retopologize it. From the videos I’ve seen, you need low poly for hard surfacing. Then define the creases and it will look a lot better. Turn on dynamic subdividsion and learn to work in zmodeler if you don’t already know it.

You may want to look up some videos on panel loops as well. That may help with some of the more intricate definition.
