How do I make Nanomesh sit on top of polygons?

I am somewhat new to ZBrush. When using nanomesh, my IMM pieces sit in the center of the polygons I’m putting them on. Is there a way to get them to sit on top of the polys??

Here is what I get: 129775973_473896456907744_1551793644962173609_n

When making this IMM brush, I looked at them facing the pointy end so they’d come out standing up. This is basically the goal I have in mind (made this manually) : 129389100_3590899711017826_2846759593250436206_n

Please and thank you!

Hello @Altarior

To control the height the nano is drawn at, adjust the Brush > Depth> Imbed value.

To adjust the height from poly after drawn out, adjust the Tool> Nanomesh> ZOffset

Good luck! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @Altarior Welcome to ZBrush Central!

When creating IMM brushes, it’s a good idea to Unify all the subtools before making the brush.

With the top subtool selected, go to “Tool > Deformation” and click “Unify”. Then at the bottom of the Deformation subpalette, click “Apply To Other” to unify the remaining subtools. Then click “Create InsertMultiMesh” in the brush palette.

Also applies to “Create InsertMesh”.
