How do I create a larger (4096) texture from polypaint

Hi. I am wondering how to ensure I can get a 4096x4096 texture map from Texture From Polypaint.

I have tried creating a 4k by 4k new texture and then making sure to apply it to the model. Then I hit Texture From Polypaint and it still makes a 2048. What steps do I need to take each time to make sure I can get the resolution I want.

You need set the texture map size in the Tool>UV Map>UV Map Size slider before pressing New From Polypaint. There are preset buttons below it but the maximum is 8192. The slider sets the size for all map generation for that subtool.

To put it simply, the UV map size is what determines how large you can make the texture. If you want a 2k texture, make your UV map 2k first.
