The arrows for collapsing/expanding don’t do it. Also, what does this do? I click on it and don’t see anything.

It shows you what meshes you have in an InsertMultiMesh brush. It only appears with an InsertMesh brush. You can turn it off permanently by:
- Selecting a brush which is NOT an InsertMesh brush.
- Turning off Preferences>Interface>IMM Viewer>Auto Show/Hide.
Remember to store the configuration (Shift+Ctrl+i).
You actually can’t switch it off permanently at this time. The configuration will not save between program restarts. Please see the first post in the official troubleshooting thread for more info, as well as a scripting change you can make to disable it permanently.
[edit] The new patch claims to have fixed the issue with the setting saving, so it should persist between program restarts now.
