How can I be sure it is the genuine thing?

Hello.

I am about to buy a secondhand license. The person who is selling wants me to pay before he contacts Pixologic to have the license transferred.

This is a normal way of working, but how can I make sure it is a genuine license before I send my money to him?

It is a matter of trust maybe, but I like a little more control over things.

Call Pixologic.

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately it is the weekend. I will do so first thing next Monday. I hope they understand bad English

Don’t pay ANYTHING, unless you’re sure it’s a genuine license. I bought mine here from a member, and he first contacted Pixologic, then Pixologic contacted me for the license transfer. When everything was working correct, I payed the person immediately. There’re tons of illegal licenses you can find on the web, don’t send someone your hard-earned money before you know it’s the real thing.

No problem with dealing with Pixologic. If you call there will be friendly people answering, and if you write an email, you will get prompt reply to this question.
If the seller is for real, then he will have no objections.

Thank you Danny and Lemonnado, the person selling had no objection to me checking out things at all, so he must be one of the “Good Guys” :+1:

The transfer went smoothly

so he must be one of the “Good Guys” :+1:

His parole officer thinks so.

Great, now have fun with it and show us some cool stuff!

that actually never came into my mind that someone could sell illegal pirate zbrush for real money.

Before purchasing a license from a user, it is best to check with http://support.pixologic.com to ensure that the sale is legitimate and there won’t be problems.
