Hiding Layers?

Is it possible to hide a layer so it’s still there but not visible so you can work on other layers without the hidden layer showing through?

Thanks.

hi zeribio. i think you can just double click on the layer you want to hide in the layer menu. i works like the lights, to turn on and off a light source you just double click it.

hope this helps

In the layers menu, click twice until the background colour of the layer turns to grey…If you click it twice again, it will become visible again.
I use this by hiding a layer, click on another layer, then go back to the one I’m working on…The hidden layer will become invisible again if you select any other layer, and clicking twice on the layer will re-activate it. This is handy for aligning parts.
I also only add layers when I need them, and usually have no more than three in anything I do…

Incidentally, you would have learned this right away by holding down the Ctrl key and moving the pointer over a layer. The help text (which is available for every feature in ZBrush) tells how to hide layers.

One thing that’s not mentioned, though, is that holding Shift and clicking on a layer will toggle all layers on or off.

Excellent! Thanks very much everyone.
