I’m fairly experienced with core zbrush features but mostly just do organic sculpts. I need to recreate this (see image) and am having a really rough time.
couple things to notice:
- a standard mask and extrude won’t do it, consider the small details like some things in front of others / handbar grips etc.
- it’s sitting on a curved surface so needs to be bent/deformed to match
possible approaches I considered (and rejected due to too much work):
- model whole tricycle in 3D and scale collapse it down then bend that to conform.
- use mask/extrude technique then go in and paint the details; works for handlegrips but not so well for occlusion within the triicycle (wheels etc.). I suppose its possible to get all that depth into a painted 2D height-map, but sounds like a big PITA, not sure i have the skills, and even then; i’d be concerned that the ‘closest/highest’ stuff is too high relative to say the backwheel when notice it’s actually all the same height and the appearance of depth just comes from shapes occluding eachother.
Thus…phone a friend! Can anyone offer a suggested workflow to solve this?
Thanks in advance!
