Software: I bought the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium and the
software in the suite I think for doing what I want is -
Photoshop
After Effects
Premiere
Illustrator
Here’s the basic outline for the work
use a video HD camera 720p (or other low end video camera and shoot live
action of a character or characters doing some type of action (pick up
ball, dancing, etc)
once the footage is shot rotoscope (here I mean the classical use for
rotoscoping like Disney did in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) - draw
an outline (on a layer) of the action and be able to save them out
(either as a movie file or as seperate image files OR both)
the drawing images then to layers in a program but the 720p (or other
type of low end video camera) would not be in ratio to a film quality 2k
frame image file - so I think I would need to covert the line drawing
layer image files into vector files so they can be scaleable as a layer
on the background 2k frame image file - once this is done save the layer
line drawing frames as a movie file (avi, etc)
open the saved line drawing movie in a program (now in ratio to the 2k
image frames) and paint the line drawings then save as a movie file avi, etc
in a program open the film quality 2k movie and open the line drawing
painted movie and combine them and save out as a avi, etc movie file.
I hope I have outlined the graphics part of the classical 2d animation
of the film
As for sound I have Sonar 8.5 for recording voice tracks special effects
and editing the sound but woud need program to sync sound tracks to the
images part of the movie.
