Hi there, just click on mrg in the export tab and your problems should be solved.

Another thing you should try if your problem persists is to use (for a test) the ZB PUV Tiles to see if those will give you any problems within maya.

Hope that helps.

Hey thanks for replying!

Unfortunately its not what is at fault…

I did a few tests in maya to find out when my uvs get messed up and it turns out that when i export from maya and then re import they get un-stiched, so its maya that’s doing it not zbrush…

This is really frustrating right about now :S Also they’ve changed the way u edit uvs in maya, i cant just select a single uv and move it it just moves the whole bunch like using the move brush from zbrush which is really weird…

Any ideas would help at this point…

Thanks

Sorry to hear that … as a lightwave user i can’t really help you with Maya issues.

Since i have been using UVLayout by Headus, my UV problems are a thing of the past. Maybe you should try that.

One thing though. Make sure that you also switch on mrg in the import option in ZB.

Hey dsoellbuster, i did do my uvs in uv layout… so i cant understand why im having so many problems now…

What version of maya are you using? You should be able to select single UV and adjust it without any problem. For your seam issue, sometimes
displacement map can cause artifacts and banding. Try applying only the color map onto your model to see if you still have the seam. If you can still see the seam, then I am pretty sure uv is your problem.

Have you found a solution yet? I’ve got a similar uv seam in my displacement too. There is no seam if I only use the color texture, but I need the displacement! I’m using zbush 3.5

go to export option and turn on mrg (but you have to re uv your mesh at first since now its already missed up)

In my case Mrg does not solve the problem

I’m having the same problem in Maya 2009 and can’t find the solution but I would say that if it comes back from zbrush unstitched it’s a zbrush problem not a maya problem. But really, it’s my problem, they’re not losing any sleep over it.

MRG hasn’t helped for me either.

Cheers!
