Help with reflection material please

Hi there,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place - couldn’t find anywhere specific to ask for help.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but when I use the ‘spherical’ function on a material, it works correcly in the thumbnail but not on my model. Hopefully the images below illustrate the issue.

I think that’s how it should work in that the reflection will change size depending on the amount of Spherical applied, and the direction of it (+ or -).

Hi, thanks for the response - I totally agree, but its not working. The ‘spherical’ amount changes the material in the thumbnail, but not on the model. See how in both images the result is the same, even though the thumbnails are different.

I’m not sure how all this works… but I gather the reflection image is an alpha? Perhaps make the alpha bigger in relation to the material space?

you have 131k points. try subdividing to about a million, see if that helps.
a higher poly count should make a difference in reflection.
