Help with horse..............

Hello,

I am a new z brush user and was wondering if there is anyone that could help me with my first project which is a horse. I have a .dxf file of the horse that I need to make.
If there are any takers please let me know.

Thanks

davidt

What are you trying to do with it?

Hello Mealea Ying,

Thank you for getting back to me. I am trying to make an .stl file of the horse so that I can cut it on my CNC milling machine.
I worked on it a little this morning and ran into trouble while I was working on the eye ball. Something happened and now I am unable to do any thing with it. I will include a screen shot of where I am with it. Don’t laugh to loud because I am brand new at this.

Thank you again,

davidt

Ahha!
This is, I think a common problem.
You need to be in Edit Mode.
If you look at your ScreenShot you will see that you have Draw (at the top) on. That’s good, but Edit Mode is off.
It’s easy to fix:

  • Type Control N to make a new and clear Canvas.
  • In the Tool Palette on the Right select Colt Horse New.
  • Drag it out onto the canvas.
  • Hit the Edit Button on the top of the screen (next to Draw) so that its Orange, this is Edit Mode and its crucial for editing 3D objects.

When you turn off Edit Mode your objects drop to the Canvas and become a new type of information, they are no longer 3D, but are 2.5D which is very diferent.
If you instantly turn on Edit mode again it will become a 3D object again, but if you do anything else its 2.5D state becomes permanent until you do what I listed above.
2.5D is totaly amazing and something to look into when you have time. Its awesome.
