Help with displacement maps

Hello Guys,

i am new to zbrush and doing my first sculpts with it but i’m having a problem with exporting a proper working displacement maps. Please see photos attached. i am using 3ds max and Vray for rendering.

The polypaint map with the UVs seem to work fine, the problem only with the displacement, please check the photos to see the resulting displacement and would appreciate it if you tell me what am i doing wrong here. Thanks

The images below are the result in 3ds max, the original mesh inside zbrush, and the displacement map from zbrush.

Thanks for the reply mate, i did already see this article but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. i put the images in the thread in hope someone would let me know what the possible mistake(s) i’m doing.

Just a heads up, i exported the mesh from Zbrush to Mudbox and exported the displacement map from there and i tested the Mudbox generated map in 3ds max and it worked perfectly! i guess until i find what i’m doing wrong in zbrush i will stick to this workflow. not perfect but it’s a solution.
