Help with an image plane.

Ok this is driving me nuts, iv tried this many times same results. I want to map a reference image on to 3-d plane, like in the “sculpting a skull tutorial” I want the image to stay attached to the tool just like in that tutorial.

  • imported my reference image into the texture pallet it is 2048x2048
  • draw a tools/3d plane on the canvas, It now has the reference image on it GOOD OK GREATE, now I activate it ( press T)
  • Now I go to fill the 3d plane with the texture and via color/ fill object (making SURE the Material/color channel is the only one ON. The fill object is not available???
  • What am I missing? Am I using the right plane object or is there a specific image plane somewhere in ZB?

color>fill object is for filling it with a single color.

because you have a texture active you can’t use color :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, turn off tool>geometry>smt
then divide the object up to around 500k or so
then go to

tool>texture>“txr>col”
that will take your texture and apply it as polypaint. now you should be able to do what you’re looking to do.

YOU rock! Ive been messin with this for 2hrs. thanks man!

Why is are there SO MANY little procedures in ZB!

Let me ask you this, is there a way to toggle the texture on and off?

the texture, just turn the texture off.

But I’m guessing you’re asking about the polypaint.
tool>texture>colorize.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks again
