HELP! Mirror and weld doens't work!

Hi guys…

I just started working with Zbrush and love it… However… I think I’m making a very basic mistake that I can’t solve for some reason… I’ve allready spend hours trying to find out what I’m doing wrong, but with no luck…

Here’s the thing…In my first try I made a face using the DynaMesh128.zpr as a base from je lightbox projects… I appended a subtool for the eyes and mirrored and welded this so I got two eyes… Fantastic!

Now I want to make a more complete character so I decided to use the zsphere technique… I followed the lesson and made base shape and converted it so that I can sculpt on it… When I got to the eyes… I again appended a subtool… choosing the Sphere3D again, but for some reason it won’t mirror and weld. It keeps on saying “the resulting 3D mesh does not contain polygons. operation cancelled.” It’s making me craaazy…

HELP!

What Am I doing wrong??? It only happens when I start with a base that’s originally been made out of Zspheres…

Ik really hope you can help…

Thank you in advance!
Sarina

Mirror and Weld mirrors from the left side to the right side of center. You are getting that error message because the sphere is to the right of center. Move it to the left of center then Mirror and Weld. You can easily move it to the left by going to “Tool > Deformation” and click “Mirror” (on X axis) button, or move it manually using the Move transform…
