help me to calibrate my photoshop :(

my photoshop always diplay brighter pictures, but I can’t find how to recalibrate it…
In the color settings, theres a lot of options, but none seems to have any impact…
It must be a gamma problem…
oes anybody know how to set it up in cs?

Here’s the result (visible in print screen!)

Shift-Ctrl-K

I had the same problem and ended up buying a Spyder2Pro from Colorvision.

It has to do with creating a color profile and applying it to your workspace. I never got satisfactory results on my own.

Thx lemo, but I know that pannel… The thing is my color are already changes in photoshop when I load a picture…

COuld you screenshoot me your settings? so I could try to see if it work on mine, to have the same colors than my desktop…

Here is the setting. I guess you are not ignoring the pictures gamut and are overwriting it with a preset. Nasty…

And I Re-Calibrated your picture as well…

…a little joker!
You have made a mirror
That is pertubating

Beauty lies within the realm of symmetry. As does great boredom ;-).

Here I used my Alien Transport Beam to make stuff vanish at the beach:

Thanks Lemo, but no way… Even with your settings, I still have a missmatch between my pc, and my photoshop display…
anybody has an idea?

what do you mean by “ignoring the pictures gamut and are overwriting it with a preset”

This might sound dumb… but… re-install???
When I load a pic… it looks the same in PhotoImpact as in preview as in PS.
I’ll keep my eyes open…
Lemo

Yeah I’m gonna resintall, theres something wrong…

Thanks for the suggestions!

…take a look here:rolleyes:
You will be agree with me that a mirroring can be pertubate !
You can’t recognise somebody when it has a vertical symmetry

You have to create a color profile and use the same profile for your monitor and PS. To get it correct you have to have a known target. I’ll check tonight and post the process. I have some info at home but I’m stuck in the office for 4 more hours tonight. It is not an easy thing to do. To start try assigning the sRGB profile you have by default to your monitor. How you do that depends on your graphics card and its settings. The other side of the coin is to find out which RGB profile your monitor is using now and using that in PS. The second option may give the best results. Click on the down arrow next to RGB and see if your monitors profile is obvious. They generally have a name that matches the monitor somehow. When you get them to match the next step is to get what you to see to match what most others see so you can share over the net. Then to match what prints to what you see which is very tedious. That’s why I gave up and bought the spyder2pro.

Actually, if I open a picture from the hard drive, its the same colors that on acdc.

But if I do a print screen from acdc, then paste into photohop, the same photo is brighter…

Are you sure it is not something ACDC is doing with your graphics card? I hate ACDSee with a passion since it came out years ago. That buggy piece of art.
I never had a cut and paste problem.

Check out this tool:

http://www.thornsoft.com/index.htm

ClipMate is the best tool I ever bought.

This will give you more transparency regarding your cut and paste data from the clipboard.

I have no idea what that can be. Check the clipboard data. At least you know if it really is PS.

PS:Yes Frenchy… Look, I used a Barbara Streisand Image and mirrored that. Can’t recognise her any more after a mirror  Streisand.jpg

Sorry I did not get back to this. I was overwhelmed with work. I need some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s.

Did you check the profile mismatches box and convet to working space when you opened. I have to admit I don’t know what acdc is?

ACDC is afaik another picture editor. Like PS or PhotoImpact from Ulead.
I am sure it’s a heck of a wicked problem. There are chances that a program is actually receiving something else on the clipboard than you can see on the screen. Hope he got it working again.
Cheers
