help in stolen works

Hy guys:
My name it is Arturo Balseiro, aka dharma studio.
I receive the notices of a friend telling me that some “artist” called Francisco Rivera and his studio called Logicbit studio post image of my work as if he was making iot.
The funny things is that they are practical sculptures and he said it was Zbrush, honestly,It could be very dificult if not imposible to make that with a 3D program. Other thing it is the other examples that are really low skilled that he show in the same thread.
Any help to catch this man would be very apreciated.

Please go to my web page if want to see my other works.
Thank you. khufu.jpg

Erased post.

It would be difficult to reproduce your works but not impossible. There’s some amazing talent out there. Your sculptures are pretty extraordinary btw.

Don’t know if one could achieve this render quality in zbrush, but with mental ray, maxwell, renderman and other renderers I don’t see any problems with getting a similar quality.

btw your website rocks, great makeup effects and prostetics. allway wanted to do something like that, but only achieved to make fake teeth once. foamlatex is so difficult to handle. your work rocks, dude.

Guys I apologies my words about ther cgi I agree with you there is really marvellous artist here, it is dangerous say that on a cgi forum, anyway I think that the problem it is depper than that coments of the render, I think.
We are talking about a stolen work.
Sorry, Arturo

Hi, Arturo!
Yes, I was in the thread that exposed Francisco as claiming your works as his. Unfortunately, I think that thread has been deleted due to all of the things that went on in it.
I’ve attempted to use the Internet Wayback Machine to take his site back in time to when he still had the things posted on it, but to no avail, as the navigation menu just appears blank.

Hopefully someone else who was in that thread can post the screenshots of what he had on his site. Good luck exposing this theif!

Arturo, really no appology needed, I can understand your feelings. I’ve seen people in the past plagiate others works of art and some of them I’ve brought to their knees myself. most of the time thei are kids, with no artistic abilitys at all.
on the other hand, stealing your artworks is really just showing that your work is extraordinary, otherwise nobody would care stealing it. the question is if the one who stole it did it only for recognition and prestige on the forums he posted it or did he actually make money with them either by selling them or getting a job out of them. the first wouldn’t really be a damage, at least no financial damage, the last would really suck and should be an issue for the authoritys, in that case you should take legal actions, i.e. get a lawyer and sue the a$$hole.

Good luck catching the retard! It is usually the end of a career in this small community when someone steals work. Good so! And I agree, CG can’t fully reproduce the photographs of your model. Till now, nothing beats reality and a well crafted sculpture! However, it’s catching up fast…

How does one proceed with a virtual lynching??

Nice work Arturo.

Here’s a link to his photo-gallery page on photo.net:

No sculptures, though.

And… his contact page:

seems he’s a systems engineer at Sun.

And his gallery page:

Don’t see any of your stuff, though.

I also found this post, which on the surface makes me wonder if there were some images on his site that he might have been using for reference were accidentally linked into his gallery page. It’s a stretch, I know, but hey I’m playing Devil’s Advocate here

sigh i just don’t get it. why in the world would someone blatantly steal someone else’s work and post it as their own. it just doesn’t make any sense. we’ve all see this kind of behavior a thousand times in many different incarnations. are some so starved for accolades of any kind that they are willing to outright lie for it? what is the purpose?

“hey look how well i can cut and paste!” whoo-hoo.

btw dharmaestudio, you have some real kick-ass work on your site! at least the guy picked some quality work to claim as his own.

Maybe it’s all an ‘accident’. I send him an email to the mentioned contact address to make him aware of this thread. I think that’s fair before we prepare for public impalement…

Lemo

that’s why it’s so perplexing to me. why would someone do something so silly? i’m anxious to see if there is a response.

Hy guys:
This is a low res of what hes has in his web, before a friend of mine send him and email, after that email he erase all the images.

As you can see there is photoshop “copy and paste” work of my pix over his works, and if you a good sight you can see that he said he had made that in Zbrush fo a client, he said that he made the animatioon and etc…
This is not an accident when you crop the image and copy and paste.

Funny to see the quality of the rest of the cgi work, isn´t it?

The first sculpture it is a wet clay sculpture of a friend of mine Christian Hanson.
Arturo

Seems to be a sad case.

The website is down. Kinda funny to read ths slogan ‘Never Immitate, Innovate.’ in this context… Any case, your work rocks!! I worked with clay a bit a few years ago but never sculpted. Only turned stuff. Do you think it is beneficial for 3d/cg sculpting to try your hand on super sculpey or clay?

Cheers
Lemo

First at all.
I would like to apologies to use the main forum to post this thread.
The moderator has move this thread, hope he understand that after the damage to my work I haven´t other option than post it in that thread trying to advoid the error.

Yes it is. I think it is so helpfull known practical and 3D as well.
In my case I beging with practical from I was a child.
Now trying to learn 3d, not to be 3D artist but only like a design tool for my make ups, but I have found that the training in 3D are changing the way I use to sculpt in clay, and I try to sculpt in 3D as I use to make it in real life. Now I make more and more cgi.

It is very diferent, but if you use the zbrush over a mesh it is very similar to real clay. No vertex aligment nor estrude, split polygon tools etc… hope you understand
Yes it is so funny the phrase no imitate, always innovate!! JAJAJAJA SO FUNNY.
Thank you, Arturo

Man, that is so low- looks like some of “his” photos are stolen too.
Great work btw.
