Help 2024 with selecting objects

Hello,

I’ve looked this up all over the internet, and I cannot find a solution of how to select different objects.

I believe some of the information is outdated, because the shortcuts mentioned aren’t working.

So for 2024, how do I select and edit different objects?

Thank you for your time.

Hi @Antares_The_Tall ,

Sorry you’re having some trouble! Did you try reading the program documentation? Your question requires understanding some fundamental concepts in ZBrush. It also depends on what you mean by selecting “objects”.

On a fundamental level any series of points in ZBrush is “selected” by isolating those points while preventing other points from being affected.

Within a single subtool, this is done with a combination of:

  1. Masking

  1. Mesh Visibility Shortcuts

  1. Polygroups.

To select different subtools, do one of the following:

  1. Click on that subtool in the subtool list.

  2. Alt-click on the subtool directly in the viewport to switch to it.

  3. Activate the subtool pop-up ( N key by default) and select the subtool.

Hope that helps!
