Hello guys need some advice!

I am new to Zbush, going to be buying Zbursh next week :+1:

Wondering what are some good books to get me start was thinking about getting

  1. [ZBrush Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy](http://www.amazon.ca/ZBrush-Digital-Sculpting-Human-Anatomy/dp/0470450266/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269549853&sr=1-1) by Scott Spencer
  • [Introducing ZBrush](http://www.amazon.ca/Introducing-ZBrush-Eric-Keller/dp/0470527641/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269549853&sr=1-2) by Eric Keller
  • Will these be to advance for me? I know nothing about zbrush at all. If you can point me to some good beginner books/dvd’s that would be great.

for learning zbrush just buy those dvds from gnomon and dtitors

Only think i know how to use is Photoshop and thats it:o

There’s definently some gnomon dvds that would make a good intro to zbrush.

If your after a book however, I have Zbrush Character Creation by Scott Spencer, which I’d say would make a fairly good introduction to Zbrush. Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy is also a book I’d recommend, but it’s focus is all about human anatomy, not learning how to use Zbrush if that’s what you were after.

The online Docs are still the most valuable resource.
I have the two books you mentioned and can confirm they are totally worth having.
Honestly though the docs and forums have all that info and more, you just got to go hunting.

btw as far as beginer to advanced you should get;
1.Introduction to Zbrush by Eric Keller
2.Advanced techniques by Scott Spencer

and read them in that order, both are dated now but the fundamentals ring true.

happy zbrushing :+1:

I’m a big fan of the Eat3d ZBrush dvd’s. Not a book of course, but they’re very well done.

Feed your brain! lol

Tackle all the free videos on the ZBrush Classroom at Pixologic (First click the “getting started with ZBrush” then click the icon at the bottom of the screen - “Welcome to ZBrush”)

Scott Spencer’s other book - “ZBrush Character Creation: Advanced Digital Sculpting” has a lot of other quality information.

Most importantly - keep a journal of everything you learn!! Write it down in your own centralized book. Learning software is like memorizing cooking recipes. There’s just too many steps to remember and it becomes over-welming head-clutter. The time taken to centralize your knowledge is knowledge you get to keep and access quickly.

Best of luck!
