I agree with you and it would be nice to see something different, but there would also be other problems created from that.
I can only imagine what the forum would turn into with one George Bush head.
Every model posted in a thread would ultimately turn into a political “hate Bush” flame war and would eventually be locked or deleted.
Yes it’s a shame, but you know that would happen.

Some (OK - many!) years back I was one of the (clay) modelers on a topical TV series here in the UK called ‘Spitting Images’.
On occasion, politicians and a couple of celebrities would indeed come into the studio with intent to purchase their caricatured ‘heads’…

Thats true man, intesresting point…
The thing is I spend so much time on a model, I need to have some kind of interest/attraction to it, and polictical is so anoying sometime…
Its just like if I had to do a mathematic homework to give back the day after…!
Sure yes a good concept but I dont think anyone would sell themselves short to work on something that never prevails in the long run.(politics) You get small money for a job then pay huge in other areas if its the wrong person for the job.(taxes, loss of more income etc)
Just as you said theres 1000’s upon more that can make a model of quality here.
Has any done a Bush or Hilary or Obama? I havent seen one here. If so I wouldnt care to look. Its boring and pointless.
Zbrush breaks the normal and lets your “get away” from it all at times. ESPECIALLY POLITICS

Without politics I can say here on Zbrush. Hey Sebastien I liked your work in vegas. Pc sucked but I posted a bunch and followed your work and your work in that game was INTENSE!!! Great Job!!! …without him getting mad because Im American.
So far here really Ive found is artist with artist and alot of help!
Perhaps this is where the starving artist title comes in. Myself I would rather starve then give these twits any more attention.

Do the hiring industry that you or the ones you instruct to come here think that most of the work here is that stagnant? Ive seen alot of different ideas here and yes 30 ogres and 50 old dudes by trees. But all different imo. What would you like to see …OTHER THEN a weathered old man bush head model or hilary clinton ogre model.

Im just a stone mason by trade and do alot of game modding for fun. Let me tell you a slab of marble is way easier to lift in ZBrush.
From the Crysis modding community theres alot of new content that is polished with Zbrush. I would probably say about 90 percent is touched by zbrush. Edged swords, scratched or damaged weapons. A turkey touched up with zbrush looks way better then the footbal your used to in older games and engines. Ive seen pine trees made with zbrush detail.
Hmm ok maybe a Hilary model to string up in the trees and get attacked by aliens. EVERYBODY HAPPY :lol:

So, Bicc, as a hobbiest, how did you make money with ZBrush? I know how to find jobs in my profession, but no clue as to how I would make a cent with something like zbrush.
Mind you, I’m not saying I think I’m talented enough to do so.

In my experience as far as illustration goes the clients could care less if you do your art with zbrush, photoshop or painter (I’m sure animation is a different animal).
This guy’s work (see below) proves a market for caricature work (his has appeared on magazines - Time, Guitar Player - all over) if you’re really well qualified.
It ain’t the tool it’s the work…
