just a minor detail that is mind boggling, that vetical vein, ive never seen that before. but otherwise i think u really nailed the skin bump and pores n stuff. just that vein. forget the lines on the forhead, that was a mistake:confused:

Thanks for the feedback,

Yeah, lots of lines and muscles are made up, scarring etc. just havin fun with it.

There is a vein that runs up the past the ear, Ive done a pretty rough job of it however.

man, you have good details, i like the modeling so far, how far are u planning to get this head?..are u going to texture it?, cant wait :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Great modelling_ and I agree superb texture work on the skin.

Just to clarify on the medical illustration the structures are colour coded as follows:
Yellow_ facial nerve its various branches_would not normally be visible on skin surface.
Red & Blue : Arteries and veins. You’ll notice that these only become visible when they emerge from beneath the Parotid salivary gland (Peach colored) which sits immediatly in front and below the ear (you can just make out the entrance to the ear canal just above and to the left of the start of the facial nerve. So you have started the dilated artery at the temple a little too low_ it would normally become visible roughly along a line joining the corner of the eye and the front/top edge of the ear.
The pale green parts are the lymphatics and lymph nodes_ again not usually visible as a structure beneath the skin.

I think you’ve captured the structure of the ear and the shape of the nose beautifully. Do you plan on adding mouth structures (teeth gums and tongue?
Looking really good_ keep at it!

Thanks again for the feedback,

The image I added isnt a ref, just the first image I found to illustrate a point.

In some cases this vein is visible… like on my sorry head, maybe I drink too much, maybe Im dying… I dunno. Anyway I do have refs at home just not here. Yeah I think the positioning is off, bit of a freehand job:)

As for how far Im taking my characters? Everything will be textured rigged and animated for a film Im making as part of my MA in Digial Media. I consider myself an animator and the meaty blend shapes you can create in ZB are awesome… love it!

Anyway, heres a little update, mainly working on the mouth

[guy.jpg]

Thanks again.

Teeth???

…and tongue.

That would probably help also.

Just the single mesh for the moment… the rest will come

I can’t see anything else wrong with it. It’s great.

Mouth is looking heaps better now that you got rid of the crease. That skin alpha’s really working as well. He’s looking good mate. Nice one. :+1:

Thanks Freakish,

Yeah, Brainplug the crease is still there, just got rid of the Marlon Brando lips. Cheers.

Here is an update, and a very quick render in Maya… loosing some detail… will be posting a ZB/Maya trouble shooting question very soon.

Been a while since I worked on this guy.

Tear tubes are a little over done, and a couple of texture issues.

C&C welcome
