hdrop’s thread

Hi. My name is Henno.
I have been doing 3d illustrations before (mainly Cinema4D) but I am quite new to ZBrush. It takes some time to get used to, but I love it.
It amazes me every time when I see what great things people are creating using ZBrush.

I have been working on a female figure for a while now, and I hope some of you would like to take a look and tell me what you think.
None of it is final. The hands and forearms are still sketchy and I haven’t done much work on the face either. As you can see I tested Transpose master on the model (works great!) but I haven’t adjusted the deformations yet.

C&C very welcome!

Great work! The werewolf is good.

I would give him bigger pupils thou! I think the small pupils give him a strange staring look, like he’s a bit dumb and funny lol.

This is an amazing render. The only thing that seems a little off is the size of the eyes. They seem like they are about to come out of his head. Otherwise, great job with the lighting, texturing, rendering… Hair is tough, but you’ve done a great job with it here.

hdrop: beautiful worx man! I’m subscribing! Lookin’ forward to seeing more! :+1: !

Thanks for your comments! I agree on the subject of the eyes. They were definitly too big. I see that now.
So I changed the area around the eyes and made a new render. I also added a bit of bloom in Photoshop.

cool

Beautiful work! The anatomy and fur is amazing! Do you have a finished render from behind also?

Have you considered posting him to the turntable gallery?

The eye shape is much better. The lighting is better too. Why isnt this top row yet?

Another horrible masked demon with shiny teeth!

I started this one just to try out the GoZ plug in for Cinema4d. Although I find the integration between the two isn’t 100% seamless, I am still impressed by the time I saved using it.
I created low level base meshes in Cinema and moved them to ZBrush. After sculpting in ZBrush I moved the meshes and displacement maps back to Cinema, again using GoZ.
For the UV mapping and texturing used Bodypaint. Finaly I added some hair on his head, chin and neck. The background, dof and smoke effect were added in Photoshop.

Thanks for watching!

i really like the last one. I hope i will be able to do something with the same amount of realism in the textured sculpting and rendering

Ok these are really wonderful. I do have a crit on the wolf. Not only is it the big eyes but it’s also the shape of the head specifically the forehead that makes it look more babyfied. Babies of all species have larger eyes and a prominent forehead this look evokes that paternal “Awww isn’t it cute” type feelings towards the creature. Which I don’t think is what we want with our lancanthropes.

The leather head gear on the Demon is just amazing. He reminds me a bit of “the Mouth of Sauron” character from the last Lord of the Rings movie directors cut (one of my favorite monsters.) I just picked up 3dsMax and can’t wait to get some ZCreations into and external renderer.

Cool, digging this last one:+1:

That last one’s texture work rocks!!

@prosthesis I never saw the directors cut of lotr. But I looked it up and, yes, I see. My character has cleaner teeth though!

Here are some views rendered in ZBrush:

pretty cool! reminds me of a cross between Iron Maiden’s “Eddie” character & the “Chatterer” from Hellraiser

wow… beautiful
i really like the teeth demon…
and nice job on the wolf too…wondering how heavy was rendering the fur for the wolf in cinema4D…
i have always found it tough to work on hair/fur…
fur and hair goes a long way in adding realism to any character…
