This script will let you render out a turntable on a model with HD geometry so that you can make turntables of your HD sculpts.
Guide to use:
1 - Load a mesh with no sub tools and HD levels and put it on the canvas
2 - Start up 'HD Turntable’by loading the script from the Script Palette
3 - You may need to re-orientate your model at this point
4 - Place your model on the canvas where you’d like the turntable to start and press the ‘Start’ button.
5 - Place your model where you’d like the turntable to end and press the ‘Stop’ button
6 - Hit the render button and it will render out your turntable for your model in all its HD geometry glory!
7 - Now simply go to the Movie palette and export your QuickTime file as usual.
Important point:
This 1st version of this script will work on a Model with multiple subtools, but it will currently only activate HD for the selected subtool only. This will change in the next version of HD Turntable.
Credit goes out to:
Darukin for his script I started messing around with to learn Zscript. Without it this script wouldn’t be ready yet.
Marcus Civis, without his wiki Zscripting guides I’d not have been able to even start this
Ryan Kingslien for help with concepts I was stuck with.
Later today Kurv Studios will be releasing the first of 2 DVD’s by myself out this week. (Volume 1 & 2 of a series called steps in ZBrush I’m doing) While recording these I needed a way to render out a turntable of a sculpt with HD geometry. As at the moment its not a feature of Zbrush 3.1 I thought I’d learn myself ZScript and try my hand at making a script that would allow people to finally see turntables of their HD Sculpts.
It didn’t seem fair to consign it as an extra on one of the DVD’s so here it is for those that need it. More info will be posted later today in a new thread on the ‘Steps in ZBrush’ series of DVD’s once its ready to buy etc…
Enjoy
