Having trouble creating shoes around existing feet

I can’t figure out a good way to model shoes around feet that already exist.

I tried deleting the feet but was left with gaping holes.
I tried using subtools and masks but the shape of the feet remained and was too difficult to work with.

I’m sure there is an easy solution here but I just can’t find what I’m looking for. Any help would be very very much appreciated.

you can either build new geo using the retopo tools or you can simply grab the polycube from the load tool panel and move that into place and sculpt it.
