Im sure there is a very easy solution to this and Im sorry before hand, but I cant seem to add edge loops. I started with a zsphere model , made it an adaptive skin. When I hide a selection, the edge loops button remains greyed out and inaccessible. I’ve made a created a polymesh, and yes I have selected that and dragged it into the workspace, but still, zbrush won’t let me add edge loops. What am I doing wrong here.
Which version of ZBrush are you using ?
Zbrush 2 did not automatically select the Polymesh tool when creating an adaptive skin or pressing Make Plymesh3D from a zsphere tool. Make sure you are using the correct tool.
I actually just upgraded to Zbrush 3.12 on mac. I actually stopped working with zbrush 2 for a few months because I’ve been working further with maya, as well teaching myself other applcations (trying to get a job in the industry, figure I need as many programs on the resume that I can get).
Ah, I see. I do not think I can help with that, sorry. Some requirement might have changed in 3.12 (On PC here). You could try holding CTRL over the Edge Loop button. If the description is updated it might yield an answer.
I think this is currently disabled. If I find out more information I’ll let you know.
alright then thanks guys I appreciate that, at least it might not just be me
you need to have at least one other subtool in your tool… stupid quirk but I got it working.
Thanks, I note that the needed subtool must be visible.
okay that works now, thanks guys
Ah great. I thought that this must have been a disabled feature, I’m glad I found this thread. Very helpful, thanks.
@ marcus
Pixo will fix this, right?
Delete Hidden is somtimes unavailable when parts are indeed hidden… sent in a report on this already, though.
I would expect so.
