Graphire3 6 x 8 vs Intuos3 4 x 5

Okay guys, crunch time: Im building my ultimate modding computer (on a budget, haha) and I’ve come down to my last decision:

Graphire3 6 x 8 163.00

Intuos3 4 x 5 190.00

what do you guys think? will I really notice the difference in control? does the larger size of the graphire3 make up for it?

Find a way to try both. Which size is right for you is very much a matter of personal taste – one will feel more “right” than the other, and that’s what you should buy.

As i own a 6 x 8" intuous3 that is very good in my opinion thats a tuff question, i think A5 is the right size, A6 just sounds so small :o lol

yeah, well, since Im such a big guy… Im 6’7", and have basketball player hands, Im gonna go with the larger one…Im just gonna wait a while till I can afford a 9 x 12.

thanks for the help guys

i have the g3 4x5 and would love to have an intous of any size.

it takes no time at all to get used to the smaller size and while I would like a larger one I can tell you it’s not a hinderance to have a smaller one. I would recommend tho that you get the most pressure sensitive one you can afford…it really does make a difference.

I too would save for the 9x12 if ya gotta way to do it! But I personally would recommend you get the best you can afford now and save for an upgrade later. Why? because especially with zbrush it’s much more intuitive and easier. If you do more work in traditional 3d modellers then wait because a mouse is a mouse is a mouse and using one is not a big deal. With zbrush tho…a pen is the ultimate …no pun intended.

i’ve had my little graphire2 3x4 for years now and never had a complaint to make about it. bigger is certainly not better in my opinion. I’ve also heard (rumours) that on larger tablets its easier to get jagged lines, as to make the same curve its a larger movement on the tablet and is actually harder to track
