graphic card sugestions?

Hi everybody :slight_smile: Im having so much fun with zbrush as all of you are doing surely, and im thinkin in purchasing a new graphic card that i hope some of u find highly recommended, im not experienced in 3d so i dont know if zbrush uses a opengl or directx or what…

I’ve seen cards about 120 / 180 euros (is it too few for a good card?) cant expend many many more.

Please some of you permanent helpers (as andres says ;)) could make good recomandations??

ZBrush uses neither DirectX or OpenGL. Another great thing about ZBrush, is that it can still handle all of that real-time modelling without depending on 3D Graphics Acceleration.

That way it can be more easily ported over to other systems.

Anyway, as far as graphics cards are concerned, I’m kind of partial to the Nvidia graphics cards such as the G-Force series.

Thanks a lot wingedone :wink: I’m more surprised with zbrush if possible…

at the moment my computer is a Pentium 4 at 1700 mhz with 1 gb mem, whats does zb exactly need to run like the wind? Of course that that all the componentes take part to increase the speed (at least i supose) but, which one/s makes zbrush powerfull? I really want to improve my computer capabilities with zb. :smiley:

The amount of ram you have is enought. The CPU could be better. Go for a good GC if you wanna have a bigger workspace like 1280x1024 or maybe 1600x1200. Also the monitor. get a 21" screen for the 1600x1200 res.

In ZBrush’s case, I believe the most important things are processor speed and memory. With your computer specs, that shouldn’t be much problem.

Edit: MikeHart’s suggestions were good ones as well.

Thanx a lot dudes! I’ll see the posibilities of buying new procesor and new graphic card (i have a real ancient model, it must be 32 bit :confused: )
