Gradient Fill tool

Hi,

Is there a way to create a gradient across the model? One which can be used for polypaint or masking? The only way I know is to mask in the low subD mesh, and blur the mask before up-Rezing.

Is the anything like 3DS max’s viewport canvas gradient tool?

Thanks

Yes:

  1. Hold Ctrl and select the Mask Rectangle brush.

  2. Still holding Ctrl, select a suitable alpha such as Alpha 27.

  3. Ctrl+click+drag over the model to mask it. The masking will reflect the alpha. (Alternatively, if the model has UVs you can use the Mask by Alpha feature in the Tool>Masking sub-palette.)

  4. You can press Color>Fill Object to fill the unmasked part of the model with the Selected Color. Whatever color the model was already will remain in the masked portion.

OR

  1. You can press Color>FillObject grad to do a gradient fill using the Selected Color in the unmasked portion and the Alternate Color in the masked portion.

Thanks! I’ll take a look at it!
