GoZ to Lightwave mismatch

Does anyone know why when I GoZ a model from ZB to Lightwave, edit the mesh and hit the return to GoZ, the edited mesh is returned to ZB as a NEW subtool, and is also repositioned on the canvas? So when I append the edited mesh to the original, I ebd up with 2 meshes at some distance from one another. This repositioning prevents me from reprojecting the textures back onto the edited mesh (because the positional coordinates have changed). I didn’t reposition the mesh at all in LW, I just bridged a few polys before sending it back. The mesh was generated in Photoscan so the positional coordinates were not aligned to ZB’s XYZ axes - but should this matter? Any help greatly appreciated.
