GOZ Maya 2016 problem !

Cant use GOZ with maya 2016

  1. it opens new maya each time… instead of putting object into already opened maya

  2. when maya starts nothing happens … no load … silence

maya to Zbrsh works well !!! but GOZ from zbrush have those problems

Well I’ve searched around and find out that maya instancing problem is the Goz plugin Bug
so the are saying you need to download Goz Update and linking update to pixologic site but I cant find any downloads there
maybe can anyone tell me where to download GOZ update ?

Did you try re-installing both Zbrush and Maya as administrators?

Are you running zbrush 4r7p3? I think the version of GoZ that comes with zbrush 4r7p3 should work.

You should have an .exe on your local machine for goZ install here > C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 4R7\Troubleshoot Help\GoZ_for_ZBrush_Installer_WIN.exe

If all of that doesn’t work you could try downloading GoZ from zbrush’s website here > http://pixologic.com/zbrush/downloadcenter/zplugins/

The installer on pixologic’s site should be all inclusive. It was just an update to include a fix for Modo I believe.

do I need to uninstall maya too & because this is really pain in the a…
I uninstalled only Zbrush and i’m installing now as an administrator

As I said in the thread that I linked you to in my first post, the only way I was able to fix the issue that you have is by re-installing both Maya and Zbrush as Administrators.

Installing as an admin would require that you first uninstall it.

I can’t guarantee that it will fix the issue for you, but it worked for me.

I cant uninstall maya now because too many things are connected to soft I’m afraid I will be force to reinstall and remanage all
so I will export tool in ma format and then will import into maya (that’s the same pipeline that goz does only difference is Goz is automatic)

can you help me with this problem ? I will upload image …
as you can see no problems in zbrush viewport but exported mesh is some kind of deformed in maya viewport …
tried also OBJ format but same thing

Kind of hard to debug from just an image. If you want to upload the model I could take a look.

Almost looks like there is a black texture on it in Maya. Do you have a texture applied to to the material that this is using in Maya? There could also be something wrong with UV’s possibly. Could also be the back side of the mesh is poking through as well?

its not a texture itsa model deformed
yeah as you said itsa black side of the mesh goes through the front mesh itsa a physical deformation

Do you have “Tool > Display Properties > Double” turned on in Zbrush on this model? It looks like you do from your screen shot, but if not that may help show what is going on.

If that doesn’t help and you still want help, yeah if you could upload this model to dropbox or something I’d love to take a look and help out.

I’m trying also to move only subtool window into the left how can I separate subtools from tools pallete and put only subtool view on left side window

by the way how to push frond mesh so to not move vertices of backside ?

“brush > auto masking > topological” may help. You might have to mess with the Range slider until it works like you want.

“brush > auto masking > backfaceMask” may help you avoid this issue in the future as well.
