GoZ kills all subD levels

I have a model of a skeleton with no subtotals, just one polygrouped mesh with four subD levels. I hit GoZ to send the model to Maya 2015 and I just want to scale the model. So I select the mesh and scale it up 100x. I freeze the transformations ( I have also skipped this step to see if it would work-NOPE) and send it back to ZB. The mesh scales up and gives me my 4 levels but totally blows out the detail. What gives?

Here is my 4th level before GoZ: Screen Shot 2017-11-21 at 2.58.19 PM.jpg and here it is after scaling and coming back: Screen Shot 2017-11-21 at 2.57.41 PM.jpg

The scaling is killing the information. Not goZ. The distance during subD levels isn’t relative, it’s absolute, so when you scale up the mesh by 100x you’re scaling down your details by 100x as well.

Thank you! That gave me the right problem to chase. I solved it by scaling on export. I increased the scale under Tool>export>scale. I was able to get it within a few units from where it had to be, scaled it to the right size (<4 units) and it came back in just fine.
