GoZ and MAYA LT.... is there a way to get this to work?

Hey,

Sorry if this has been asked before ( i assume it has but the keywords GoZ MAYA LT just seem to bring up every single forum thread ever when searched for)…

Can you not use GoZ with MAYA LT? as you are all probably aware GoZ for some reason requires Mental Ray to be installed.
What’s the solution to get this working? if there is one.

If there isn’t a way to get GoZ to work with MAYA LT then is there a workaround for this workflow… (for Games)
basically I have my Hipoly sculpt in Zbrush… i then …

  1. GoZ all subtools to maya (lowest division level) where my low poly also waits.
  2. Move all the subtools away from each other so that I have no objects close to or overlapping each other.
  3. align a version of the low poly to these newly spaced out subtools.
  4. Goz the subtools back to Zbrush and then set them to highest subdivision in their new location ( spaced out)

How do I achieve this without GoZ… or is there another way entirely to do this? … it’s so i can get clean bakes with no intersecting geo artifacts etc in the bakes.

any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
