GoZ 3ds max scale problem (brushes in Zbrush are far too small for the model)

Hi,

I have a 3ds max file where the system units scale are set to inches and Display Unit Scale is set to centimeters and the model I am working on measures 190cm by 135cm by 100cm. I send it through GoZ to Zbrush. I drag out in the workspace and the model is there. I click the standard brush and turn the size up to maximum 1000 but the brush is still only about 1/20 of the length of the model.

I follow this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBxpnQlf9X8 which says click on Unify in the deformation palette. This makes the maximum 1000 scale brush cover more than the length of the model but when click GoZ in Zbrush to send it back to 3ds max the model is very small compared to how it was before it went to Zbrush and back. I can scale it back 50000percent with the type in transform in 3ds max and it is almost the same size then manually move and scale it so it matches up with a clone of the model that was made before it got sent to Zbrush.

Is there a method of setting things up so that GoZ will keep the right scale in 3ds max and but when in Zbrush the brushes are the right scale relative to me the model so that a quick too and fro is possible?

Thanks for any advice.

Fixed it. If both System Units and Display Units in 3ds max are set to metres GoZ works fine both ways. Brushes are the right size.

This might help explain a bit.

Once the patch is released for 4R7 with the bugs and updates then I’ll be posting new information with how Zbrush handles scaling and how to deal with those issues when working in various 3D programs.
