Hi guys,
I know I don’t post much in the CG section (because I’m not very good yet) so I figured I’d post in the community section
Here are my new pets that arrived today, baby red eyed tree frogs. I may try and sculpt them!

These are adorable! It may be hard to sculpt them, you will need a lot of patience because they are rather complex creatures if look carefully. Good luck to you on this, I’ll be waiting for the pictures of your work!
Thanks! They’re awesome to have. They’re very friendly and don’t try and run away when you take them out of the tank.
I’ve got a base mesh down but I had to put the project on temporary hold since I’m preparing for an interview for a software development job. I plan on starting the sculpt back up real soon though!
I’ve been taking more reference pictures to try and get as much red eyed tree frog anatomy references as I can. (I don’t have a macro lens so its not as easy as it could be).
Heres another shot of one. It’s been pretty useful for seeing the close up of the side of the face. I’m convinced there is no red eyed tree frog specific anatomy reference so I’ve been slowly making my own
I ordered them from this place:
They’re captive bred which is good (I’d never order a wild pet) and they arrived perfectly healthy and well fed. They came when the weather was colder and there was a heat pack in with them to keep them warm. I ordered them as babies and they were about the size of a nickel. They’re getting a little bigger now but they’re still tiny.
They’re actually really friendly too. They don’t try and hop away or anything (they walk more than they hop). If I take them out to clean their tank they climb on me for a bit and then sit down and go to sleep
